NNU Officially Teams up with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers our students the Christian education they need to prepare for successful ministry. Although Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ doesn't provide masters programs, our ultimate goal has always been our students' success. Therefore, we have been working in tandem with Northwest Nazarene University, an affiliation that instills confidence in the path made available to post graduate students at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. That being said, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (the regional accrediting agency for NNU) has approved a new master's degree program to work in conjunction with the as our students complete their Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ degree.
This collaborative agreement allows Christian Counseling cohort members to do masters work while finishing their Bachelor of Arts in Ministry degree. Christian Counseling majors may choose to apply for and, if accepted by NNU, enroll in 16 semester hours of NNU’s Master of Science in Clinical Counseling program. While sitting in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ’s classes, graduate-level students will do additional assignments beyond the undergraduate requirements. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ will then accept these 7 courses as meeting 21 hours of credit toward the Christian Counseling major. Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ graduates may then finish the remainder of the 44 hours of masters work through a combination of intensives in Colorado Springs and online work.
Through this partnership, our Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Christian counseling graduates will be able to transition to this master's programs much more efficiently as they take on the brand new adventure. Earning an MS in Clinical Counseling through the fantastic hybrid program of working online, participating in campus sessions, and an intensive during summertime at our beautiful Colorado Springs campus won't feel too far from home as Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ will still be very much a part of the process. This collaboration is such an extraordinary achievement for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, but let us not overlook where the credit is due, and acknowledge that this would not have been possible without the years of work and time spent by Dr. Terry Lambright and the . So let us recognize Dr. Lambright and his team for making this all happen and providing Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students with another highly purposeful means to a future of success.
